Fog Crest Vineyard
Social Media Content Creation and Management
Fog Crest Vineyard is the only Black, woman-owned winery in Sonoma County, California. When a friend offered me the opportunity to work on the winery's social media content, I jumped at the opportunity.
Truthfully, I was not well-versed in wine lingo, but I was excited to tackle the challenge (remotely, as I was living in Chicago).
After taking a look at some of the social media content of wineries in the area, I noticed something – wine content can be kinda boring. And all of the accounts are selling the same thing: wine.
In a saturated market like Sonoma County, my goal was to ensure that FCV's social media content is "infotaining" (informative + entertaining), memorable, and unique.
My friend who contracted me to create the content told me that one of our primary objectives was to feature Rosalind (the winery's owner) on the winery's social media channels. So we set out to put a face to the name. Now, if you visit Fog Crest Vineyard on Facebook or Instagram, you can easily identify Rosalind Manoogian's smiling face.
I have been known to come up with some out of the box ideas, and working on the Fog Crest Vineyard channels has been a great outlet for experimenting with trending audio, trying out new Canva tricks, and even occasionally including my dog in some of the content. Rosalind loves dogs, and regularly holds events at the winery with a local animal shelter to encourage people to give all of the homeless dogs a deserving home.
It has been an honor to elevate a small business owner like Rosalind by promoting her wine on social media.
